Semi-Automatic Defibrillation Review

(3 hours: Basic & Intermediate levels)

Objectives:
• To ensure knowledge of and familiarty with SAED Protocols
• To identify areas for improvement in practice and documentation of SAED trips
• To improve SAED skills through practice with equipment in realistic code scenarios
• To learn and practice safe, effective CPR/Defib techniques under adverse conditions
• To learn troubleshooting techniques in case of equipment malfunction
• To test the application of knowledge acquired in this class

1. Review MA Statewide SAED Protocol (15 minutes)

2. Review previous SAED calls (25 minutes)

3. Mock code scenarios (30 minutes)

4. Practical on CPR/Defib (30 minutes)

5. Troubleshooting scenarios (20 minutes)

6. Written Quiz and review (20 minutes)

7. Practical Skills Evaluation (40 minutes)
